I'm on the board of a 501c3 organization. We currently have a forsale forum for our members only. At one time we had a FS forum that was open to the public but we're told that it was a violation of 501c3 code. My question is can a chartible org run a public forsale forum. Our charter is conservation and education. Thanks

This is a legal (tax) question, not a parliamentary one. You should ask an attorney (or a tax accountant).

But not-for-profit organizations hold all kinds of fund raisers (including yard sales, etc.) so my guess is that you've been given incorrect information. It wouldn't be the first time.
