Guest Lynn Posted May 8, 2012 at 02:55 PM Report Share Posted May 8, 2012 at 02:55 PM If the group approves a new slate of officers unanimously, is the approval by acclamation or does there need to be a motion to approve the slate of officers? Trina Posted May 8, 2012 at 03:15 PM Report Share Posted May 8, 2012 at 03:15 PM If the bylaws call for the use of ballots during election, ballots must be used, even if there is only a single candidate for each office. If the use of ballots is not required, the chair can simply announce (for each unopposed nominee) that that nominee is elected by acclamation. What you write suggests some form of voting -- if so, it may be worth pointing out that a 'yes/no' vote is not appropriate when there is only one nominee for a position. The only way to vote against one person is to vote for a different person.
