Guest Sandy E Posted May 10, 2012 at 05:05 PM Report Share Posted May 10, 2012 at 05:05 PM My meeting did not have a quorum so the committee decided to to a vote by email after the meeting. Would this addendum be added to the meeting notes or would it be a separate document from the notes?
Trina Posted May 10, 2012 at 06:34 PM Report Share Posted May 10, 2012 at 06:34 PM Unless voting by e-mail is specifically authorized in the organization's bylaws, the attempt to vote in this manner is improper, and any 'decisions' made by way of e-mail voting would be null and void. Moreover, an inquorate meeting can do only a very limited number of things, and the action described above isn't on that very short list. The minutes should accurately document what actually happened at the (inquorate) meeting. Hopefully the minutes of the next meeting will reflect actions to correct any errors that were made.
