amyblufrog Posted July 9, 2012 at 06:20 PM Report Share Posted July 9, 2012 at 06:20 PM What is the correct process to follow when you arrive at your meeting and don't have quorum? Do you call it to order? I am thinking that I would call it to order, certify that quorum is not achieved, set date for adjourned meeting and then adjourn to that date. Steven Britton Posted July 9, 2012 at 06:44 PM Report Share Posted July 9, 2012 at 06:44 PM Sounds like a plan; what you have outlined would not be improper. There are two acronyms that parliamentarians use to remember what actions an assembly can take without a quorum. The assembly can FARM. (Fix the Time to Which to Adjourn - Adjourn - Recess or take Measures to obtain a Quorum).Sounds like you chose door number one , than followed with door number two. I am thinking that I would call it to order, certify that quorum is not achieved, set date for adjourned meeting and then adjourn to that date. You should call it to order, declare that there is no quorum, and make the assembly aware of the motions that are in order. See RONR (11th ed.), p. 347, l. 22 - p. 348, l. 23. Setting an adjourned meeting is a good idea, but it is for the assembly to decide; you can't do it yourself, unless you're the only member present.
