Guest susan Posted July 11, 2012 at 04:03 AM Report Share Posted July 11, 2012 at 04:03 AM Voting of new officers Some members cannot be present. We do not have ballots for these elections. Nominations are done and then votes taken. Usually those wanting to run contact members prior to annual meeting of election to seek out votes. Since some members are not able to attend can these members send in a letter with their voting wishes thru the mail and be opened and counted at the election? Trina Posted July 11, 2012 at 11:25 AM Report Share Posted July 11, 2012 at 11:25 AM Absentee voting is not permitted under RONR. In order to do what you suggest, that procedure ("members send in a letter with their voting wishes thru the mail and be opened and counted at the election") would have to be authorized in your bylaws. If the bylaws don't authorize it, the absent members are out of luck.
