Scott Brasch Posted July 20, 2012 at 12:34 PM Report Share Posted July 20, 2012 at 12:34 PM I am President of an NFP and have an emergency at my regular job.Our VP position has been vacated. My question is can I appoint our Treasurer to Chair the meeting or does the BOD need to vote on a Chair for the meeting. Unfortunately my RONR 11 is at home. Thanks in advance for your help.
Trina Posted July 20, 2012 at 01:20 PM Report Share Posted July 20, 2012 at 01:20 PM The body elects a chair pro tem (you as President can't decide ahead-of-time who will serve as chair in your absence). That being said, your suggestion that the treasurer take the chair could be passed on informally, and there may be no objection to following the suggestion. It's just that the actual decision is in the hands of the assembly.
