Removal of treasurer from office

Our organization does not have a provision to remove an officer nor are we incorporated, however we do have in our By-Laws that we follow Robert's Rules of Order. The situation we face it that the treasurer has not done his job according to the By-Laws. It states that an audit is supposed to be conducted 30 days prior to the Annual Meeting. This did not happen nor has he provided answers to requests from the President or the Board. We wish to remove him from office but do not know how to proceed. Please note that we do have a provision for member disciplinary action. I have read the FAQ 20 and I do not think it addresses our situation as this is way beyond just not liking someone, it is dereliction of duty. So, the question is how do we proceed to remove the treasurer from office?

Despite the wording of the question, the answer to FAQ20 is applicable in instances where there is more than just a dislike of the person. It is highly likely that FAQ20 does, in fact, apply to your situation. pay particular attention to the brief discussion of the pertinent wording in the bylaws concerning term of office.
