Guest Michael Posted June 2, 2014 at 06:12 PM Report Share Posted June 2, 2014 at 06:12 PM A Notice of Meeting was correctly issued with a written resolution stating a requirement of 3/4 in favour for approval At the meeting the motion was declared defeated as only a 69% vote in favour was obtained. 10 days later it was discovered that the 'Act governing the process, had been amended to require only a majority vote in favour to be carried. Q. Was the motion actually carried?....is it null and void?...is it necessary to call a special meeting and vote again on the resolution? Thank you
Timothy Posted June 2, 2014 at 06:50 PM Report Share Posted June 2, 2014 at 06:50 PM No, the motion did not carry. Yes, if you want the motion to take effect it will require a meeting.
