Guest Youth Football Posted March 10, 2015 at 10:30 PM Report Share Posted March 10, 2015 at 10:30 PM Our youth football organization votes for coaches by secret ballot. The day following elections, it was discovered that a member was not eligible to vote. However, his vote was counted in an 8-7 election. Do we simply nullify the entire vote & vote again? Or do we allow the President to break the tie? The President benefits by election of one candidate over the other because he was named Asst Coach following the election. What should we do to maintain the integrity of the election process?

What should we do to maintain the integrity of the election process? The election must be redone. In a ballot vote, the President should vote along with everyone else, and he does not get a second vote to break a tie. Even if he has not already voted, it's much too late for him to vote now.
