EAult Posted October 18, 2016 at 11:35 PM Report Share Posted October 18, 2016 at 11:35 PM May I have opinions/facts/excerpts regarding how to deal with unruly public that attend a Board meeting, ie: does the secretary have the authority to deal with the issue and ask the individual(s) to leave the meeting? If not, then who?
Weldon Merritt Posted October 18, 2016 at 11:46 PM Report Share Posted October 18, 2016 at 11:46 PM So fara as RONR is concerned, the chair (not the secretary) has the authority to order non-members to leave (subject to appeal by a member). But if you are talking about a governmental board, which I suspect you are, you should cheeck with legal counsel regarding any open meetings act implications.
