Guest Frustrated Posted July 5, 2017 at 02:09 AM Report Share Posted July 5, 2017 at 02:09 AM I had a meeting last night with one main motion and debate that wound up lasting over three and a half hours (don't ask). My secretary quit last night after the meeting so now I have to create minutes from the video of the meeting (which we luckily recorded). During the meeting we had three or four calls of the question which failed each time, and one approval of a suspension of debate. Do I need to include each of these specific calls of question (who moved and who second) and the motion to suspend in my minutes or can I just state the main motion and the eventual outcome of that vote? Gary Novosielski Posted July 5, 2017 at 02:25 AM Report Share Posted July 5, 2017 at 02:25 AM It is sufficient to list the main motion (as amended, if amended) and the outcome. The mover's name should be recorded, but not the seconder. What is this motion to "suspend debate" of which you speak, and how does it differ from a motion for the previous question?
