Our local Association has an appeal process if there is a complaint filed against a member.  The appeal was filed within the time frame permitted.  The bylaws and constitution are silent on a time frame for the appeal to be adjudicated.  The appeal has dragged on.  Is there any standard amount of time permitted given that this issue is straightforward?

RONR has no guidance on this subject, as the appeal process you describe is entirely a creation of your own rules.

Unless a body other than the general membership is given exclusive authority to adjudicate appeals, it should be possible for the membership to insist that the appeal be resolved within a given time frame, via a motion to that effect. If you feel that this has dragged on too long, offer a motion to set a time limit for resolution.
