If a tie vote occurs, may a new motion be given to acquire a new vote?

Scenario:  A motion to remove an officer from their position was proposed.  After discussion a vote was taken.  There was an 8-8 tie.  Can a new motion be made to seek a new vote?

Generally, the motion may be made anew at a future meeting.

Since this is regarding removal of an officer, however, see also FAQ #20.

When a tie vote occurs, since this is less than a majority, the motion fails, in the same way as it does when most people vote No.  There is no requirement to take any further action; the motion simply does not pass.  In the case you mention, the officer is not removed.
