Rescind or supercede a vote on a confusingly-worded motion

At our last board meeting I made a motion which was seconded and passed.  However, it's now obvious that the wording of the first motion was ambiguous and confusing.  I have now made a second motion (via email) that is much clearer.

If we pass the second motion to we need to rescind the first motion (the second motion says basically the same thing as the first, but much more clearly), or will the second motion simply supercede the first?  If we need to rescind the first, should I include rescinding the first in my second motion?

Instead of Rescinding the motion then having to adopt the new one you can kill two birds with one stone and use Amend Something Previously Adopted which requires the same voting threshold.  See RONR pp. 305-310 for  details.
