Guest Puzzling Posted March 11, 2021 at 05:13 PM Report Share Posted March 11, 2021 at 05:13 PM Do you have to make minutes of an executive session if during the session only (confidential) information was given and (confidential) debate took place but no motions were adopted? Is it enough to put in the surrounding minutes something like: At 20:20 the board went into executive session The executive session lasted till 20:50 During the executive session no motions were adopted. After the executive session a motion by the chairman pro tempore to accept the resignation of the president was adopted

No, I don't think so. If nothing happened during the executive session which would need to be recorded in the minutes, there seems to be no reason to record separate minutes for the executive session. 4 hours ago, Guest Puzzling said: Is it enough to put in the surrounding minutes something like: At 20:20 the board went into executive session The executive session lasted till 20:50 During the executive session no motions were adopted. So far as RONR is concerned, I think it would be sufficient to simply state "The resignation of the President was accepted."
