Guest Pamela Posted March 20, 2021 at 03:49 PM Report Share Posted March 20, 2021 at 03:49 PM Historically our Society has voted on new members by yes/no written ballots. Our by-laws state that a vote must be held-it does not state for that vote to be written. In light of the current health situation and in order to prevent handling paper ballots by the membership- is there anything in Robert’s Rules that would prevent a vote by a show of hands or verbal vote in lieu of a written ballot? Nothing in Robert’s Rules would prevent a vote by a show of hands or verbal vote in lieu of a written ballot provided that your bylaws do not require a ballot vote.
