Guest ElleDel Posted April 20, 2021 at 06:57 PM Report Posted April 20, 2021 at 06:57 PM Three days before the AGM, the candidate for secretary made know. Therefior her desire to step down due to emergency obligations. We run a single slate and due to COVID, members voted by mail and it was a virtual AGM Therefore she was elected and almost immediately stepped down. Do we need a special election to fill the vacancy or may the president fill the vacancy? Thank you. Quote

Nothing in Robert's Rules does so. Quote
Guest ElleDel Posted April 20, 2021 at 07:29 PM Report Posted April 20, 2021 at 07:29 PM Thank you for the confirmation. Our Bylaws specifically state that In the event of resignation or vacancy of any Officer other than the President, the position shall be filled by appointment by the President until the next election, subject to approval by the Executive Board.
