Guest Mike Johnson Posted November 26, 2022 at 12:31 AM Report Share Posted November 26, 2022 at 12:31 AM Our by laws say the nominations committee report of recommended candidates for office must be in the newsletter prior to the November meeting. That meeting was moved to December & no newsletter was issued. Can we hold elections in January since the membership did not receive the above notification? Gary Novosielski Posted November 26, 2022 at 01:13 AM Report Share Posted November 26, 2022 at 01:13 AM It's not clear from your description what the exact prior notice requirement is. But if you can get the report to the membership in sufficient time, and with proper notice of the election meeting, then go ahead and hold the election as soon as possible thereafter. Apparently one or more people dropped the ball and caused a bylaws violation as a result--so get to work and fix it. And be reminded that the nomination committee report must still be given at the meeting, and that nominations from the floor must then be called for, if the rules in RONR apply.
