Reschedule Annual Meeting

Our Club gave notice of annual meeting 1/6 scheduled for tomorrow 1/20 in which elecrion of officers is on the agenda. Today, 1/19 there are numerous members who have reported they will be unable to attend.

Is this a legitimate reason to rea hedule the annual meeting?

What are legitimate reasons for a club to reschedule the annual meeting? And how soon would it need to be rescheduled?

Since notice has already been sent and the annual meeting is tomorrow, I am doubtful that there is any mechanism at this time to reschedule the annual meeting in advance of the meeting, regardless of the reason.

When the meeting actually occurs, however, the assembly is free to set an "adjourned meeting" for a later date and then adjourn to that date, if it wishes. This is entirely at the assembly's discretion, by majority vote, so it will be up to the assembly to determine what reasons are legitimate.

There is no fixed timeline, but generally there is important business that must be attended to at the annual meeting, so it would seem advisable to hold the adjourned meeting as soon as is practicable.
