Recess Time Limit

A recess presumes that the members will not disperse from the premises. It's like an intermission. For anything longer, the proper motion is adjourn. For an interval of four weeks, the proper motion is certainly adjourn, not recess."

A recess is a short intermission in the assembly's proceedings, commonly of only a few minutes, which does not close the meeting and after which business will immediately be resumed at exactly the point where it was interrupted. RONR, p. 222, l. 30-34.
