If, after a vote, someone requests that he "go on record" (a phrase not taken from RONR) that he opposes the newly-adopted motion, then the chair ought to treat the request as a request.

I still hold that such a request is, in the general case, dilatory and should not be admitted. If the member on the losing side wishes to take some parliamentary action, he should make, or give notice of, a motion to Rescind. Or, he can obtain the floor w"
