David A Foulkes Posted June 1, 2010 at 11:12 AM Report Posted June 1, 2010 at 11:12 AM Is it anything worth worrying about that Google and Yahoo seem to always be listed in the Active User area at the bottom-left of the forum home page? Seems like they have spiders crawling the site. Possibly harmless, and yet..... they never sleep. zzzzzJust thought I'd inquire.

Or, if you prefer, bots. Most forums see them as an advantage as their posts will, eventually, turn up in search engines. They crawled the old Q&A Forum too, you just couldn't "see" them there.Wikipedia has a good article on Web crawlers.

Well, I suppose there is some potential benefit there, although I've found them crawling profile pages as well, and when it comes to having my name show up in search engines with my profile photo attached -- well..... no good can come from that.

Who's fault is that?
