Guest cliffy Posted August 11, 2010 at 07:54 PM Report Share Posted August 11, 2010 at 07:54 PM I serve on the BOD of a HOA. We adopted a resolution that states that we (BOD) recommend we assume to permanently take over a specific project! Can we amend that resolution by changing the word 'permanent' to 'temporary' or should the entire resolution be rescinded and restated? As always, thank you in advance! The required vote to amend something previously qadopted is 2/3 vote without notice, majority vote with notice or a majority of the entire membership fo the BOD. This has the advantage of avoiding the problem if the motion to rescind passes and the motion to adopt the new motion fails. There could be reasons why you cannot amend the motion, both legal ones or the fact the action has already been completed. Your board attorney might advise you on that.-Bob
