Guest CT-PA Posted September 11, 2010 at 04:46 AM Report Share Posted September 11, 2010 at 04:46 AM A few parents allegedly overheard a board member calling other parents a bad name. The parents reported the incident to another board member. This board member sent an email to everyone on the board regarding the incident as there was no set date for the next board meeting and she wanted to make sure that the issue be addressed. The board member who allegedly called the other parents a bad name requested via the President and VP to have a special meeting to address this issue. Can disciplinary actions be taken against the board member who notified the board only of the allegations? What if any thing should the President and VP do about this situation? Josh Martin Posted September 11, 2010 at 05:53 AM Report Share Posted September 11, 2010 at 05:53 AM Can disciplinary actions be taken against the board member who notified the board only of the allegations? If the organization wishes to do so. Follow the procedures in your Bylaws, or if your Bylaws are silent, you will need to follow the lengthy investigation and trial procedure in Ch. XX of RONR.What if any thing should the President and VP do about this situation?Carefully read up on the Bylaws and Ch. XX of RONR to be informed about the proper procedures, just in case.
