we have two boards in our group, one is executive board and other is general which also includes the exe. members, a vote at executive level was not passed by a two third vote but it was brought up to the general board vote, our bylaws state that any changes need to pass in the executive level. a vote was take on these changes and one in particular was split, the president then voted in favor of passing, this was not a two thirds vote and yet we were told that it passed, if this is incorrect, how do we go about reversing this vote?

Your bylaws can only be properly interpreted in their entirety, something that's beyond the scope of this forum. But if you think a rule was violated, you should raise a point of order at the next meeting (of a body of which you are a member)

You might also want to consider re-naming your executive board the executive committee (which RONR describes as "a board within a board") to avoid the confusion of having two "boards". Typically, you'd have a larger Board of Directors (or Board of Trustees) and a smaller Executive Committee.

our one board is called executive committee, and this is where a vote was not taken because it was postpone indefinitly, and then it was brought at the state board. I would think that if it was postponed indefinitly at executive lelel, that is where it should be brought again as we need approval at executive level before it can be brought up at state level.
