hmtcastle Posted October 18, 2010 at 10:46 PM Report Share Posted October 18, 2010 at 10:46 PM If VP resigns from office, who follows in that position? May President appoint? May the position remain open?If your bylaws do not provide a mid-term vacancy-filling option (e.g. appointment by the board or by the president), you'll have to fill the vacancy in the usual way (e.g. by election). Previous notice of the election is required. There is no automatic line of succession.
Tim Wynn Posted October 19, 2010 at 04:12 AM Report Share Posted October 19, 2010 at 04:12 AM If VP resigns from office, who follows in that position? If you have several ranking vice-presidents, the second VP would ascend to the first vp spot. Other than that, the position would have to be filled. See RONR(10th ed.), p. 279, l. 21-30 for details. May President appoint?Only if the bylaws say so.May the position remain open?It should be filled as soon as possible.
