hmtcastle Posted October 28, 2010 at 08:07 PM Report Share Posted October 28, 2010 at 08:07 PM Can a board member make a nomination and then second the motion to the nomination? There is no distinction between a nomination and a motion to nominate. And note that, in cases where seconds are required, the same person can't both make and second the motion. Tim Wynn Posted October 28, 2010 at 08:58 PM Report Share Posted October 28, 2010 at 08:58 PM Can a board member make a nomination and then second the motion to the nomination?1. A nomination does not require a second.2. The purpose of a second is to let the chair know that at least two members want a motion to come before the assembly.3. In small boards, seconds usually are not required.
