Guest Donw Posted November 9, 2010 at 06:32 PM Report Share Posted November 9, 2010 at 06:32 PM Our organization is a 501©(3) animal related non-profit with simple bylaws. The organizations property was just before being sold at auction for unpaid property taxes. A benefactor came to the rescue for the taxes. Since then it was learned that there were thousand dollars in unpaid bills plus penalties for failure to file form 990. The question is the proper procedure to demand an audit of the corporate books - which have been held personally by the chairman or treasurer.
