Guest George A Auger Posted November 15, 2010 at 05:03 PM Report Share Posted November 15, 2010 at 05:03 PM Recently at a Board meeting a motion was presented and passed by the Board of Directors of a national non profit assoication. This motion was later deemed to be unconsitutional by the consitution committee. How does one go about nullifying this policy. Thank you.

Thank you.If it is in conflict with the constitution, it is null and void. See RONR(10th ed.), p. 332, l. 15-18.Raise a Point of Order at a meeting. See RONR(10th ed.), section 23. The chair will then rule the point "well taken" or "not well taken." His ruling can be appealed, and the assembly will decide. See RONR(10th ed.), section 24.If your constitution committee has some authority in this matter, that may play a factor.
