Guest Dale Rogers Posted November 23, 2010 at 08:45 PM Report Share Posted November 23, 2010 at 08:45 PM If a person has served on a Board and has done no wrong and resigns and no replacement has been made, can that person request to be reinstated and does it take Board approval for reinstatement or would the reinstatement be automatic? If it has been accepted, and the member in question has learned of this, it cannot be reversed. However, the appointing power (regarding the vacancy) is free to appoint any eligible person to the position, including the one who resigned. Yes/no?Perhaps Dale Rogers' bylaws do include such mention, but just in case......

However, if it is a resignation from office, notice is required to fill the vacancy. If, on the other hand, a single person appoints the position, no election would be involved.
