Guest sue w. Posted March 20, 2017 at 05:15 PM Report Share Posted March 20, 2017 at 05:15 PM The mayor, council member, city resident, and city attorney are all officers of a charitable non profit (501 c-3) that benefits the citizens of a community. During a council meeting, it was the "consensus" to move funds given to the city (from a now-defunct outside municipal group) to this particular charity. Was that a conflict of interest since the officers of that charity are also on the city council?
George Mervosh Posted March 20, 2017 at 05:24 PM Report Share Posted March 20, 2017 at 05:24 PM See http://www.robertsrules.com/faq.html#9 for what RONR says. I was going to suggest you check with the council's attorney (or solicitor if you live in PA or in some parts of the Free State of Maryland), but apparently he's not having a problem with the situation.
