Guest Maggie Posted August 8, 2017 at 10:56 AM Report Share Posted August 8, 2017 at 10:56 AM Do changes to the Constitution of a non for profit (501) C have to be read twice before the changes voted on by 2/3 voting majority, or if the changes are sent in advance to members in writing can they be voted on and implemented? Chris Harrison Posted August 8, 2017 at 11:02 AM Report Share Posted August 8, 2017 at 11:02 AM Such details should be located in the organization's Constitution and/or applicable laws governing those sort of organizations.
Richard Brown Posted August 8, 2017 at 12:52 PM Report Share Posted August 8, 2017 at 12:52 PM Agreeing with Chris Harrison , RONR does not contain any requirement that proposed constitution or bylaw amendments be read twice . Any such requirement would have to be in your own governing documents. Unless your governing documents provide otherwise , RONR does require previous notice and a two thirds vote for the adoption of changes to the constitution or bylaws.
