At a general meeting, if the president presents an agenda and a member requests to add something to that agenda, what is the vote requirement for that item to be added (this would of course be an item that the president does NOT want to be added)? The President's opinions on the matter (which he should be keeping to himself if he's doing his job properly) are irrelevant for the purposes of this rule. Are we talking a majority (with a quorum present) or 2/3 or it it literally the fully assembly meaning every member present?No; when RONR says "the assembly" decides, by default it means (a majority of those present and voting at a legal meeting of) the assembly decides.In this case, it's just the ordinary voting requirement that applies to amending any main motion. In other words, it takes a majority vote to agree to the amendment (added item). Then when no further amendments are offered, a majority vote on the entire agenda to adopt it formally.
