Guest BestGuess Posted March 1, 2011 at 02:47 PM Report Share Posted March 1, 2011 at 02:47 PM Our association has a question regarding policy making.A member has been sited as breaking a particular policy, however, there is no public document or published as such that has ever been submitted to our membership. The "policy" seems to change with the wind pending the situation yet again, there is nothing set in writing, so how can one be sanctioned if they were not dually advised of what the actual policy is? So there is nothing in RONR that will protect this member from being disciplined. However, the member can use the situation as a defense in any proceedings that may rise up. Guest BestGuess Posted March 1, 2011 at 05:19 PM Report Share Posted March 1, 2011 at 05:19 PM Oh the Executive has moved forward to attempt to suspend this person based on them "not following the policy". Again, there is no policy in place in writing that has been submitted to the membership in written format. It is solely only a verbal policy that again, I reiterate, changes with the wind.So how does that member respond to being suspended?

As I said before RONR will not offer this member any protection in this situation and any protections would be located in your rules.
