Tim Wynn Posted March 15, 2011 at 01:47 AM Report Share Posted March 15, 2011 at 01:47 AM Is it possible to retract a motion after it has been seconded? Before the motion is stated by the chair, the maker can withdraw it on his own authority. After it has been stated by the chair, the maker can request permission to withdraw it, which can be granted by the assembly. See RONR(10th ed.), p. 284. jstackpo Posted March 15, 2011 at 02:22 AM Report Share Posted March 15, 2011 at 02:22 AM And the deal is, a withdrawn motion is NOT recorded in the minutes. It is as though it was never made at all.
