Henry Posted May 6, 2011 at 01:45 AM Report Share Posted May 6, 2011 at 01:45 AM If a person has been elected to a two year term, can that person (without resignation) be ousted out of the two year term by having a amendment that makes the position a one year term.?Yes. Surely. You could even shorten the term to the extent that you remove the position completely. If you do not want amendments to apply to people already in a position that intention needs to be specified in the ammendment or it should be motioned prior to the amendment that the amendment will not apply to people already in office. David A Foulkes Posted May 6, 2011 at 01:49 AM Report Share Posted May 6, 2011 at 01:49 AM Article XI section 68 adresses this question.Unless I'm mistaken, you are referring to the Robert's Rules online, which is 4th Edition, published nearly 100 years ago. I'd suggest that F&F get updated to The Right Book for more current advice. See Tim Wynn's references above for page and line.
