jstackpo Posted May 19, 2011 at 08:46 PM Report Share Posted May 19, 2011 at 08:46 PM Yes; you do so through the use of the motion: "Rescind; Amend Something Previously Adopted" -- see RONR p. 293 for all the details.
David A Foulkes Posted May 19, 2011 at 08:55 PM Report Share Posted May 19, 2011 at 08:55 PM Can you bring up a motion that was passed, to take a new vote if you abstened from voting the first time it passed???Following up on Mr. Stackpole, you won't simply take another vote on the motion, though. You can either Rescind (reverse, undo, cancel, that sort of thing) the motion, or you can Amend (make changes to the particulars of the motion adopted). So if the motion to donate $50 to a specific charity was adopted, and you abstained from the vote, you won't get to vote on it again. You can either undo the motion (Rescind) or change it (Amend) to give more or less money, or give it to a different charity or charities. But the motion doesn't just simply come back up for another vote.
