Guest Tricia Posted May 20, 2011 at 08:38 PM Report Share Posted May 20, 2011 at 08:38 PM Our Board wants to eliminate the reading of prior month Board Minutes and the Monthly Financial (Treasurer's) Report. I have never been at a Board Meeting for any organization that these were eliminated and if any group of people should be concerned with these two, it should be the Board members. Is this elimination allowed?
Chris Harrison Posted May 20, 2011 at 08:47 PM Report Share Posted May 20, 2011 at 08:47 PM Our Board wants to eliminate the reading of prior month Board Minutes and the Monthly Financial (Treasurer's) Report. I have never been at a Board Meeting for any organization that these were eliminated and if any group of people should be concerned with these two, it should be the Board members. Is this elimination allowed? At a minimum it would require a Special Rule of Order (2/3 vote if previous notice was given or a majority of the ENTIRE membership of the Board if notice wasn't given) to accomplish this on a regular basis and it may even require a bylaw amendment. Stay tuned for further opinions.

Gerry4000 Posted May 21, 2011 at 12:20 AM Report Share Posted May 21, 2011 at 12:20 AM They may be thinking of moving these items to a "Consent Agenda" in order to move the meeting along more quickly and not take up time on what may normally be routine items.
