gregory Posted June 13, 2011 at 04:37 PM Report Share Posted June 13, 2011 at 04:37 PM After reading RONR I was under the impression that a resolution is a series of motions, each to be voted on independently? Is that not correct? But if correct or even close to correct, what page is that on?
jstackpo Posted June 13, 2011 at 04:58 PM Report Share Posted June 13, 2011 at 04:58 PM Another way of putting it is to say that a resolution is just a motion in fancy dress, all gussied up and moving uptown, so to speak.

Josh Martin Posted June 13, 2011 at 05:08 PM Report Share Posted June 13, 2011 at 05:08 PM After reading RONR I was under the impression that a resolution is a series of motions, each to be voted on independently? Is that not correct? But if correct or even close to correct, what page is that on?This is not correct. A resolution may contain multiple Resolved clauses, if that's what you're getting at, but the resolution is voted on as a single unit. Ultimately, a resolution is just a special format for a motion. See RONR, 10th ed., pgs. 100-106 for more information.
