loose Posted July 21, 2011 at 06:32 AM Report Share Posted July 21, 2011 at 06:32 AM I just got booted off the board. Somebody was rude and the chair doesn't keep order so I walked out of the meeting and while I was out I was voted off the board. The bylaws say that the board can remove a member without cause. Do I have any basic rights that would say otherwise?

Josh Martin Posted July 22, 2011 at 02:21 AM Report Share Posted July 22, 2011 at 02:21 AM The bylaws say that the board can remove a member without cause. Is that the entirety of what the Bylaws say on the subject? Some societies, for instance, do not require cause to remove an officer, but still require notice.Do I have any basic rights that would say otherwise?Maybe, but not in RONR. The Bylaws trump RONR. You would need to find a higher authority (such as applicable law) to get rights that would trump the rule in the Bylaws.
