Chris Harrison Posted November 21, 2011 at 02:05 AM Report Share Posted November 21, 2011 at 02:05 AM 1) Nothing in RONR prohibits it.2) Simple logic dictates that a President who leaves office is going to become a past President and there is no way around it. However, nothing in RONR would stop a former President (even if out of office for less than 5 minutes) from being elected a 2nd VP. Of course, your rules may say otherwise. Trina Posted November 21, 2011 at 02:06 AM Report Share Posted November 21, 2011 at 02:06 AM i) Sure, why not?ii) Anyone can be nominated for anything; however, there is no way to prevent a current President from becoming the immediate past president once he/she leaves the office of President.I'll point out that RONR has nothing to say about 'Past President' as an office, and makes no assumption that a past president holds any office at all simply by virtue of having been president. Guest Edgar Posted November 21, 2011 at 02:17 AM Report Share Posted November 21, 2011 at 02:17 AM Can the current President be nominated as 2nd vice president rather than becoming the new Past President. As noted, if elected, your 2nd vice-president will also be your immediate past president.
