carlw1@earthlink.net Posted November 29, 2011 at 04:53 PM Report Share Posted November 29, 2011 at 04:53 PM Will someone clarify with the constraints in our Bylaws how this amendment process (see below) should be implemented?Q. In sentence (1) it states the general membership may offer amendments to the Bylaws. That being the case in Sentence (3) it states suggested amendments may be sent to the President for consideration at the next board meeting. Does this mean that amendments offered by general members must seek board approval before being ratified at the next general meeting (sentence 4)? or can a member offer amendments at the general meeting via RONR?Our Bylaw Amendment Process from (by sentence from our Bylaws):1. These By-Laws may be revised or amended by the general membership.2. Notification of the proposed revision, change or amendment shall be made available for review on the Association’s Web Site and newsletter at least fifteen (15) days prior to the Board Meeting it will be considered.3. Suggested changes to the new By-Laws may be e-mailed to the President for consideration at the next Board Meeting.4. The new By-Laws shall be ratified at the following general meeting by a simple majority of those members present.
