Guest Carlos Pais Posted December 7, 2011 at 09:43 PM Report Share Posted December 7, 2011 at 09:43 PM I have a question on an illegal election that took place in July. The candidate was not qualified to run in July. The candidate was voted in by a majority vs one other candidate and a question on his qualification after the election was made.Reason being one of the qualifications was in the process of changing. At the time of election the candidate was not eligible. Now we established the election is void and need to have another election. As it currently stands, for this election that must take place, would the nominations be based on qualifications of the time of the original election or of the timing of the new election? If you're being nominated today, you must be eligible today according to the rules that are in effect today. The same for holding office. If you have to be 25 years old to hold office and you're only 24 now but you'll be 25 by the time the term of office begins, you're okay. But if you have to be 25 to be nominated then you're too young to be nominated. So it matters just what your rules say. Exactly.
Guest Carlos Pais Posted December 7, 2011 at 10:23 PM Report Share Posted December 7, 2011 at 10:23 PM So is there written anywhere that the "new" election does not reflect or take anything from the past and must be in "real-time?"Is the "eligible in real-time" part of RONR?
