Guest Karen Posted December 9, 2011 at 07:21 AM Report Share Posted December 9, 2011 at 07:21 AM In preparation for a second organizational meeting, how is the search for potential nominees for officer elections done? The interest form has a place for prospects to indicate their interest in an office. However, there has not been much response received. There is only a steering committee and a bylaws commitee at this time. Should the Steering committee act as a quasi nominating committee?
Guest Edgar Posted December 9, 2011 at 11:13 AM Report Share Posted December 9, 2011 at 11:13 AM In preparation for a second organizational meeting, how is the search for potential nominees for officer elections done? This seems, to me, to be more of a marketing issue than a parliamentary one. If you don't have enough volunteers to fill your offices you may have too many offices or . . . an organization that no one is interested in supporting. But just how you find those volunteers is up to you. Typically, I would think, the same (small?) group of people that create an organization usually become its first officers.
