Guest John Posted January 25, 2012 at 12:53 PM Report Share Posted January 25, 2012 at 12:53 PM We recently held a vote of our board members. Two days after the vote, we found that one on the members that voted...is in fact not a board member. They were removed from the board two years prior, but none of the board members were aware until after the recent vote.Does this vote count, or is re-vote required to make the results legit? I wasn't sure if a non-members vote was included...if it makes the vote results null and void.
David A Foulkes Posted January 25, 2012 at 12:55 PM Report Share Posted January 25, 2012 at 12:55 PM Could this non-member's vote have affected the result? That is, did the vote of ayes and nos differ by one?
Guest John Posted January 25, 2012 at 01:01 PM Report Share Posted January 25, 2012 at 01:01 PM no, the single vote would not have affected the results.
Guest Edgar Posted January 25, 2012 at 01:21 PM Report Share Posted January 25, 2012 at 01:21 PM They were removed from the board two years prior, but none of the board members were aware until after the recent vote. Two years?I suggest you remove the remaining board members as well. Or at least wake them up.

If the invalid vote can be identified, it is disregarded. If it CANNOT be identified and if there is any possibility that it could have affected the result, the vote must be retaken. It sounds like you're in the clear... until you discover other board members who aren't really members.
