Guest John Posted March 5, 2012 at 05:10 PM Report Share Posted March 5, 2012 at 05:10 PM The official minutes of our club records (2007) makes numerous mention of a certain motion. The minutes state that on a certain date and at a specified meeting, a vote will be put before the general membership to approve this motion. The minutes from this meeting do not include any reference to the motion or a vote being taken. Now five years (2012) later several members believe that a vote was taken at that meeting and the motion passed. At this time they want to submit documentation from other sources, not the minutes of the meeting that have been approved, that will verify there contentions. Is this permissable, and do these newly introduced documents have any validity?
jstackpo Posted March 5, 2012 at 05:16 PM Report Share Posted March 5, 2012 at 05:16 PM Members are free to amend minutes previously adopted - p. 305 & 475 for details - to correct what might have been left out. All your "several members" have to do is convince a majority (2/3 if no notice) that they, the "several", are correct.
