Guest Bob Posted March 25, 2012 at 10:02 AM Report Share Posted March 25, 2012 at 10:02 AM Scenario:Nonprofit organization with Board of seven directors. The total Board create, discuss, adopt and submit a report to the President of the organization. Days later, three members on their own and without the knowledge of the total board create and submit what they call a "minority report" and submit it to the President. The "minority report" takes an opposite position than the previously submitted report. The three members say that this is allowed by Robert's Rules of Order. Is this true?Thank you. tctheatc Posted March 25, 2012 at 11:46 AM Report Share Posted March 25, 2012 at 11:46 AM Sort of. See RONR pp 527-529. The minority may request to submit their view, but it is a privilege requested of the assembly, not a right.
Larry Cisar Posted March 25, 2012 at 12:06 PM Report Share Posted March 25, 2012 at 12:06 PM They can submit it to the president but he is not bound to do anything with it. If they want to officially submit it, see tctheatc's post.
