Guest Susan Posted May 2, 2012 at 11:36 AM Report Share Posted May 2, 2012 at 11:36 AM Will our organization need to vote to change our plan because a group that we once worked with has dissolved? Since we did not dissolve the relationship (they have ceased to exist) and therefore had no decision in the results, can't we simply remove that portion without a vote as a board. Trina Posted May 2, 2012 at 01:36 PM Report Share Posted May 2, 2012 at 01:36 PM If the 'plan' is described in an adopted motion, then you should amend the adopted motion to take care of the change in circumstances. Presumably (if the facts are clear) this amendment is uncontroversial, and could be handled by unanimous consent. Is that what you mean by 'without a vote'? Guest Learning Posted May 2, 2012 at 01:56 PM Report Share Posted May 2, 2012 at 01:56 PM If the motion isn't applicable any longer why does it need amended?
Gary c Tesser Posted May 2, 2012 at 03:17 PM Report Share Posted May 2, 2012 at 03:17 PM If the motion isn't applicable any longer why does it need amended? As far as I can tell, we here on the Internet's premier parliamentary forum can't know whether the motion is applicable now, or not. Our Guest Susan did not provide detail in her Original Post. (Susan, can you pop back in, please?)
David A Foulkes Posted May 2, 2012 at 03:54 PM Report Share Posted May 2, 2012 at 03:54 PM Will our organization need to vote to change our planRONR doesn't address "plans." It does address constitutions, bylaws, standing and special rules of order, motions and resolutions, along with a few other such animals. So, could you explain a bit more about what this "plan" is, and where it can be found within your collection of governing documents?
