It got so bad that the commodore walked away from the podium and approached a member within 2 feet and it looked like a fight was about to start. However, it certainly would be violating decorum if the commodore and member are having hostile words and it would be disturbing the assembly to have the two start rumbling. As far as the podium question goes, the unwritten rule is that the chair can only punch, kick, or head butt a member who is within six feet of the podium.
