Guest Vicki Posted May 9, 2012 at 12:49 PM Report Share Posted May 9, 2012 at 12:49 PM Can a friendly amendment be withdrawn by the person who made it and a revised one made by the same person? And can it be seconded by a person other than the first person who seconded the original friendly amendment?

Motions to Amend are treated in the same way regardless of whether or not they are deemed to be friendly.
Gary Novosielski Posted May 22, 2012 at 02:01 AM Report Share Posted May 22, 2012 at 02:01 AM Once a motion to Amend (or any motion) is before the assembly, it belongs to the entire assembly, and no longer to the mover; so it cannot be withdrawn without the (majority) consent of the assembly. The seconder is essentially irrelevant. Who seconded what, when, is of no importance, as long as motions are seconded when needed.
